The Hock 2.38mm (3/32") thick blades are world renowned for their improved cutting action. They offer a substantial improvement over the inferior chrome-vanadium junk that comes with so many tools. Our high carbon steel blades can be honed more easily and will get sharper.

Cap Irons (Chip Breakers, Back Irons, etc.) for Traditional Stanley Planes. To maximize your plane's performance, a thicker chip breaker (cap iron) can stabilize the blade's cutting edge reducing vibration and chatter. Set your breaker very close to the cutting edge to best prevent tear-out. HOCK Chip Breakers are 3mm thick (.118"), almost twice as thick as a stock chip breaker. A knurled cap screw is included.

Title : HOCK 2 1/4 INCH BLADE AND CHIP BREAKER
Review : I got the 2 1/4" Hock blade for my Stanley 5 1/2 pre 1939 type 13. A very unique size and found Hock were the only brand making that size. Graham at Professional Woodwork Supplies was extremely knowledgeable. The Hock blade was sharp out of the box. Taking .005 thou shavings straight up. The blade and chip breaker matched perfectly. The back of the blade was extremely flat and I only had to spend 30 seconds on my 8000 grit stone to get an indication of how flat it was. Perfect from edge to edge. The O1 steel sharpens effortlessly and maintains a great edge. Just as good as my Veritas A2 blade. The Hock setup fitted into my Stanley 5 1/2 without any trouble. No fine tuning required. It just worked :)
